Dr. Chung is a licensed psychologist in the state of Arizona. She conducts psychological assessments and provides treatments to adolescents, adults, couples and families on issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia, loss and grief, chronic pain, trauma and abuse, life span transitions, relational problems, acculturation, as well as other psychological, spiritual, and existential issues. Her style is empathic and she emphasizes collaborative relationships with clients. She hopes to help her clients build on their strengths to cope with life challenges. She is bilingual in Mandarin Chinese and English and has worked with people from a broad array of cultural backgrounds.
With substantial experience in practice, she provides evidence-based treatments and adopts various strategies to facilitate treatment process. When needed, she conducts assessments to differentiate diagnosis and provide treatment recommendations. Assessments she conducts include intellectual assessment, academic/developmental assessment, personality assessment, ADHD assessment and Neuropsychological assessment.
Dr. Chung’s personal experiences as an international student and immigrant helps her relate to and better understand people who face adjustment issues or go through the process of acculturation. She has practiced in a variety of settings, such as college counseling center, private practice, community outpatient clinics, residential group homes, nursing facilities and etc. With a passion in teaching and education, Dr. Chung has taught in elementary school, secondary school, college and seminary.
