Dr. Mary Kalpakoff is a Psychologist who specializes in Clinical Psychology. She provides individual psychotherapy to adults (ages 18 – 90+) experiencing various mental health difficulties, including: depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders (e.g., PTSD), substance-related and addictive disorders, personality disorders, relationship difficulties, grief, adjustment issues, spiritual struggles, and stress. Dr. Kalpakoff is proficient in delivering psychological services, both in-person and with tele-therapy, to best meet the needs of her clients.

Dr. Kalpakoff earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) and Master of Arts in Psychology (M.A.) from The Wright Institute (Berkeley, CA). She earned her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the University of Miami (Coral Gables, FL), where she majored in Psychology and Minored in Dance. This unique combination of studies ignited her passion for mind-body wellness. Dr. Kalpakoff also completed coursework at the University of New South Wales (Sydney, Australia).

Dr. Kalpakoff completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the West Palm Beach Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center and APA-accredited postdoctoral residency in the PTSD Division at The Miami VA Healthcare System. Dr. Kalpakoff has received well-rounded generalist training (e.g., working in primary care setting) as well as specialty training in PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, and Serious Mental Illness.

If clinically appropriate, Dr. Kalpakoff conducts psychological assessments and provides tailored treatment recommendations. Assessments she administers include: Psychodiagnostic, personality, and intelligence testing. Dr. Kalpakoff utilizes a strength-based approach. Dr. Kalpakoff strives to create a safe and empowering environment for her clients, and she believes a good fit between therapist and client is an integral component to healing. She utilizes a warm, compassionate, and sensitive approach to collaboratively help clients, from many backgrounds, achieve their goals.

Dr. Kalpakoff has extensive training in providing multiple modalities, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Seeking Safety, Trauma Informed Guilt Reduction Therapy (TrIGR), Emotion Efficacy Therapy (EET), and mindfulness.Dr. Kalpakoff was born and raised in Arizona. Her spirituality is a treasured part of her life. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, biking, yoga, spending time with her loved ones, eating spaghetti, watching comedies, and catching a vibrant sunset (bonus if it is near the ocean!).
